Zoujaj resumes production after fire incident

Riyadh – Mubasher: National Company for Glass Industries (Zoujaj) announced the successful repair and restart of a production line that was previously sidelined by a fire, according to a bourse disclosure.

The company disclosed that the incident, first reported on 1 October 2025, resulted in a total profit reduction of SAR 16.10 million for the period spanning September 2025 to July 2026.

The restoration process took longer than initially anticipated due to extensive damage to the forming machine and glass feed channel.

Delays were further compounded by the lead times required to secure specialized spare parts from original equipment manufacturers and the subsequent arrival of technical support teams.

Financial estimates for the incident were revised upward as the full scale of the damage became clear. Repair and equipment costs rose from an initial estimate of SAR 1.30 million to SAR 3.10 million.

Additionally, business interruption losses increased from SAR 2.90 million to SAR 13 million.

Zoujaj confirmed that both the physical damages and the business interruption losses are covered under its insurance policy. The company has initiated the necessary procedures with its insurer to process the claim.

At the end of June 2026, Zoujaj posted 73.49% year-on-year (YoY) higher net profits at SAR 66.10 million, compared to SAR 38.10 million.
