Saudi NWC unveils SAR 400m desalinated water project

Riyadh – Mubasher: The National Water Company (NWC), represented by its Central Cluster, implemented a desalinated water project in Riyadh at a value of SAR 400 million, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The company supplied desalinated water to three governorates in the Riyadh region, including Dhruma, Al Muzahimiyah, and Al-Quwaiyah, in addition to the Al Qiddiya project west of Riyadh.

This aligns with the company’s strategic plans to establish infrastructure in both the water and environmental services sectors.

NWC indicated that the water supply project involved implementing transmission lines of different diameters with a total length of 172 km.

This is in addition to constructing six operational reservoirs with a total project daily capacity of 100,000 cubic meters to improve the quality of water services provided to over 270,000 beneficiaries.

NWC  highlighted that the project will strengthen infrastructure, boost operational efficiency, and improve the quality of services provided to customers to meet the growing water demand.

It also aims to achieve water security in line with the comprehensive urban renaissance witnessed by the Kingdom.

In January, NWC began implementing water supply projects in Makkah at a value surpassing SAR 1.60 billion.
