SAL leads Saudi transportation sector’s downturn with 5.98% fall

Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi transportation sector experienced a notable downturn during the trading session on 20 July 2026, with the sector index [TTNI] falling by 2.13% to close at 4,074.55 points.

Market breadth was decisively negative, as only two constituents recorded gains while seven stocks ended the day in the red.

The session was characterized by a concentration of liquidity in the logistics and rental sub-sectors, though this volume failed to provide price support for the majority of the tracked companies.

SAL Saudi Logistics Services Company emerged as the primary laggard of the day, posting the sector's steepest decline of 5.98% to close at SAR 163.40.

The company also dominated the sector’s trading activity, recording a total trade value of SAR 64.32 million, the highest among its peers. This downward trend extended to the car rental segment, where Budget Saudi dropped by 3.13% to SAR 28.48 on a turnover of SAR 11.59 million.

Similarly, Lumi Rental Company fell by 2.73% to finish at SAR 29.98, while Theeb Rent a Car retreated by 2.13% to SAR 22.55 with a trade value of SAR 12.24 million.

In the aviation and logistics support space, Saudi Ground Services saw a decline of 1.01%, ending the session at SAR 27.52.

Conversely, a small pocket of resilience was observed in SISCO Holding and Flynas Company.

SISCO Holding managed a marginal gain of 0.44% to reach SAR 36.18, supported by SAR 9.27 million in trade value.

Flynas also closed in positive territory, edging up by 0.20% to SAR 50.35, while recording the sector's second-highest liquidity at SAR 14.29 million.

Despite these minor advances, the heavy weighting of the losses in SAL and the broader car rental group ensured the sector remained under significant pressure throughout the session.
