Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) partnered with Folk Maritime and SABIC to launch a new Red Sea Express container shipping service to King Fahd Industrial Port, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The new service, with a handling capacity of up to 1,100 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), will connect Jeddah Islamic Port, King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu, Ain Sokhna Port in Egypt, and Aqaba Port in Jordan.
The direct shipping route is expected to accelerate cargo handling operations, reduce vessel waiting times, and improve overall supply chain efficiency, contributing to more streamlined logistics services and stronger operational performance.
Moreover, the Red Sea Express service will deliver positive economic impacts by supporting the growth of non-oil exports, attracting fresh investments, and reinforcing the role of Saudi ports as a key driver of economic development in the Kingdom and the wider region.
It is also projected to enhance the competitiveness of Saudi exports by lowering shipping times and transportation costs, while expanding trade opportunities for national products through advanced and efficient logistics solutions.
These efforts align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to establish the Kingdom as a leading global logistics hub.
